Outrageous Adventures, the specialist teambuilding adventure company in Clarens, offers the very best white water river rafting in South Africa all year round, every day of the year, on the Ash River just outside Clarens. The Ash river is fed by the Trans-Caledon transfer tunnel from the Katze dam high up in the Lesotho mountains. Crystal clear water on its way from our neighbour, Lesotho, all the way to the Vaal dam.

There are some very exciting rapids in this stunningly beautiful area of the Eastern Free State on the outskirts of Clarens. But, although very exciting, the rafting on the Ash river is also very safe and even non-swimmers will love the outing! Big 6-person rafts are used with a highly qualified and experienced guide in each raft who steers the raft safely through the turbulent water.

Above the 2 or 3 biggest rapids of the day, the trip is also stopped and the rapids are first scouted and explained to the teambuilding group. Everyone in the group has the option not to raft the rapid and walk around the obstacle in the river.

And then there are also long flat pools between the rapids with only fast-flowing water, ideal for huge water-fights to build team-spirit! Or just float along at a leisurely pace, enjoying nature, and the splendour and tranquility of the lovely country-side.
